In 1969 the 17th catalogue of Rembrandt etchings to be pub- lished since 1751 appeared in the series Hollstein's Dutch and Flemish etchings, engravings and woodcuts, ca. 1450 - 1700. It was a landmark publication that has served as an indispensable reference tool for the study of Rembrandt's prints for the past 45 years.
